Alzheimer's Support is celebrating after receiving £17,600 from its corporate partner, Trowbridge-based meals provider apetito

The company's senior PR executive Katie Oliver and colleague Anna Cooper called into Old Silk Works day club to present the cheque to members, staff and volunteers.

This contribution includes funds raised by apetito and Wiltshire Farm Food employees in wide range of activities, including a charity football tournament, Christmas jumper day, raffles, quiz nights and challenges from the Athens marathon to the Bath Half. The company also collects donations at its own monthly Sunday lunch club for local people over 65, and the total fundraising pot was matched by a direct donation from the business - leading to the impressive total.

The company has also contributed meals for the Alzheimer's Support's day clubs and release staff to spend time volunteering, demonstrating real commitment in a partnership that started in 2016 and has gone far beyond financial support.

Over the past year, fundraising efforts have come to the fore with apetito establishing a dedicated Social Value Committee consisting of passionate staff members from all corners of the business. This group aims to continue driving impactful change through this long-standing charity partnership, whilst reinvigorating fundraising efforts with fresh ideas and further fostering a culture of social responsibility throughout the business.

Lee Sheppard, Director of Corporate Affairs, Policy, and Sustainability at apetito said: “This partnership is very important to us at apetito due to our aligned values and a joint passion and commitment to supporting those living with dementia, and their carers to live independent and fulfilling lives.”

Sarah Marriott, CEO of Alzheimer’s Support said: “We really value the ongoing partnership with apetito and appreciate this generous donation and all the hard work that has gone in to raising the money. It’s amazing to see how enthusiastic the staff are in helping us to make a real difference to the lives of those with dementia.

“This money will support many of our essential services, including our day clubs across Wiltshire which provide respite to individuals living with dementia and promotes independence for those living at home.”
