Alzheimer's Support has reached the final of the UK's most prestigious awards scheme for dementia care.

The whole organisation was shortlisted in the category Outstanding Provider of Dementia Care in the Community, and was pipped to the top prizes by the Sheffield Memory Hub.

CEO Sarah Marriott said: "It is a real honour to be a finalist in this award, and to be in such good company. The National Dementia Awards recognise the most innovative and inspirational people and dementia services in the UK and we were thrilled to be nominated and shortlisted."

The awards ceremony was attended by head of dementia advisers Diane Barkham and head of communications and fundraising Stephany Bardzil.

Stephany said: "It was a real honour to be in the same room with people doing such great work in the field of dementia care. We didn't win this time but for our small Wiltshire-only charity to be in such good company is a sign of how well thought of we are across the country."
