More people will find out about dementia in Wiltshire thanks to funding from the National Lottery.
Alzheimer's Support has received funding to roll out its well-regarded Understanding Dementia programme of community workshops which help community groups, individuals and businesses find out more about living with dementia.
More than 500 people have already attending an Understanding Dementia session, and the Awards for All funding will enable the charity to train volunteers to help deliver more sessions across Wiltshire.
Alzheimer's Support trainer Annie Clayton, who developed the programme, said: "We developed this simple, one-hour workshop to help people understand a little more about dementia and what people affected might be experiencing. Just knowing some key things can open up understanding and make a big difference to how we interact with people.
"In the past year we have run sessions for schools, local businesses, church groups, other charities and some public sessions that anyone can come along to.
"The feedback is always very positive and we are delighted to have the funds to help us expand the programme and reach more people."
