Hannah's story

Hannah was a driving force in the fundraising efforts of two families whose relatives Jean Harvey and Norman Britten, both attended Mill Street club. Their support paid for several fish and chip lunches for club members and other items to enhance the club day.

Last year Hannah, Jean’s granddaughter went a step further and organised a hugely successful community bingo event at Wesley Road social club – exceeding her target to raise £5,335.

Community fundraising manager Rachel Fear said: “It was an incredible event and so well supported by the community. As well as the bingo, there was a fabulous raffle and so many people made items to sell. It was a brilliant afternoon and so well organised.”

Hannah and family members visited the club to hand over the funds.

She said: “Mill Street Club did wonders for Gran and really bought her spirit back and made her smile again, and for that I will be eternally grateful to the staff and members of this amazing charity.

She added: “Thank you for everything you did for Gran, Norman and everything you are doing for all families affected by dementia. Your work is invaluable.”
