Our Westbury café meets on the second Wednesday of each month for a speaker or entertainment, and a chance to socialise with others 'in the same boat'. Professionals are on hand to discuss any aspect living with dementia in an informal, friendly environment.
The Westbury café was the first memory cafe in Wiltshire when it first opened in July 2019, and remains a place where people can meet new friends and enjoy some social time with others.
We serve refreshments in the first half-hour before the entertainment or talk begins.
Location details: Grassacres Hall is accessed via the Methodist Church car park which is situated on the B3097 (Station Road BA13 3JL) we can use the car-park during the hours of the café.
What to expect
Our first café opened in 2009 as a meeting place for people with dementia and their families, at a time when there were few opportunities to socialise with others affected. Since then our seven cafés have developed into much-valued social and information-gathering occasions where people can strike up friendships, chat informally to professionals, find out more about dementia and support from a wide range of speakers, and enjoy refreshments and entertainment.
