Whether you’re looking to stay gently active, spend time together, or simply enjoy fresh air and supportive company, Muddy Boots – North offers a calm and enjoyable way to connect with nature, movement and community.
What to expect
Muddy Boots – North is a brand‑new walking group launching in 2026, offering gentle, friendly outdoor activities in the north of the county, centred around Lyneham. It is designed for people living with dementia and those who support them, in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
We meet on the first and third Mondays of each month (excluding bank holidays), from 2:00pm until 3:30pm.
First Monday – relaxed sessions, often including visits to local places of interest such as farms, gardens, outdoor museums or visitor attractions
Third Monday – supported walks of up to 1.5 miles
Each walk or activity is carefully planned in advance by our experienced facilitators and supported by trained volunteers, helping everyone feel safe, comfortable and well supported throughout.
Muddy Boots – North is about enjoying the outdoors in a way that feels right for you. Some people enjoy chatting and getting to know others; some prefer walking quietly and taking in nature. There is no pressure to keep up and no expectation to talk.
Carers and companions are encouraged to take part, and four‑legged friends are welcome when the location allows.
At the end of each session, we come together to relax with tea and treats, finishing the morning in calm, friendly company.
Muddy Boots – North runs in most weathers, unless conditions are genuinely unsafe. Please dress appropriately for the day and come ready to enjoy being outdoors.

Muddy Boots will not meet on Bank Holiday Mondays or over the Christmas/New Year period. A list of dates is available on request.
The group will meet at different locations across north Wiltshire. Details will be provided by the group facilitator in advance of the session and are also available on request.
