Art group - Chippenham

Art group - Chippenham

Chippenham art group meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month in St Paul's Church Hall, Greenway Lane, Chippenham. It's led by artist Fran Young and organised by our experienced community services coordinator Pam Ollis.

Family carers are welcome at the group as full members and encouraged to join in to create their own pieces of art.

This group is kindly part-funded by Chippenham Borough Lands Charity

Why take part

Creating art can be therapeutic in all stages of life. It can be particularly helpful for people living with dementia who still enjoy the process of painting, drawing and being creative, and feel a sense of achievement with their finished work.

What you can expect

The groups in Wiltshire are by experienced artists or art therapists and support people to retain skills. They are also suitable for those with no artistic experience. Family carers are encouraged to attend as full members of the group, creating their own pieces of art and benefiting from the creative group atmosphere.

Projects ranging from painting and drawing to collage, printing, crafts, clay modelling and more. We work at a leisurely pace with plenty of time for conversation and connection. No previous experience of art is necessary and everyone works at their own pace. People can also work on their own projects and develop their own ideas.
