How we are funded
Every year we need to raise £350,000 to meet the shortfall in our funding - your donations pay for the services that matter.
In today’s landscape of ever shrinking public funding, non-profit organisations like Beyond Dementia have become a crucial part of providing specialist services. Good support comes at a price no local authority can afford, so it falls to charities like us to bridge the funding gap.
It took 35 years to build the charity into the organisation it is today and much thought goes into making services and activities sustainable. Sustaining our diverse income streams is a major factor in securing a relevant and rich portfolio of services.
Beyond Dementia holds two contracts from Wiltshire Council and the local NHS which account for around 30% of our income. Some of our services, such as day care and support at home, attract a subsided fee, and we charge a nominal, pay what you can contribution for our activity groups.

For the rest, around £350,000 a year, we leave no stone unturned. Our fundraising activities include applying to grant-making trusts and foundations, working with corporate partners and winning the support of local community groups. We organise our own events including our annual Walk to Remember and Denim4Dementia campaigns. Then there are the efforts of wonderful individuals who go to great lengths to raise funds for us.
